weekend getaway
This past weekend I took off a couple days and made it a long weekend. I flew up to Buffalo on Friday afternoon to visit Kristen, returning late Monday night. Kristen got me started watching "Lost." I have managed to stay away from seeing any episodes so far - not because it's a bad show, just because I didn't want another distraction. I've almost finished season one and I am liking it so far. It's like an exciting movie that never ends. We spend Saturday afternoon at Darien Lake, an amusement park not far away from where she lives.

The picture above is the "Ride of Steel," one of the coasters we rode. It's first hill is a 208ft drop! Woohoo!

I found this guy in a Wegmans grocery store in Buffalo. This poor firefighter looks like he got burnt - badly. Black from head-to-toe, and his fire extinguisher is labeled "Don't Smoking." He needs to find a new line of work.

Notice anything odd about the access points? I picked this up in the Charlotte Airport. The access point "CLTNET" is the actual free wireless internet available at the Charlotte Airport. The two other things are adhoc networks or devices, such as another person's laptop. One clever person named theirs "Free Public Wifi," I can only assume to try and steal some personal info while you freely browse the web through their computer. Be careful what you connect to!
